We are currently using SL Standard V 2010 but need to increase our subaccount structure beyond the limit of 3 segments.  What version do we need to transition to in order to get beyond the 3 segment limits?  Does Business Essentials have this capacity?   SL Pro?

You will need advanced management to go beyond 3 segments and 6 characters.

Hello Calabm,

Do you have the access to Share Information module? If yes, Business Essentials have this capacity.

If not, Pleas try to get the Advancement Management licencing for SL. You will get the access to the Shared Information module.

Hope this explains.

Thanks,

This post and the response are a bit confusing.  First of all, you state that you are using SL Standard V 2010 but there is no such version.  I suspect you mean version 6.5.  The "standard" and "pro" labels apply to the older module level licensing for Solomon while the terms business essentials and advance management apply to the BRL versions of Dynamics SL.

Under version 6.5, the standard version limits the sub-account to a total of 6 characters in no more than 3 segments.  The pro version allows up to 24 characters and 8 segments.

Under the BRL licensing, both the business essentials and advanced management allow 24 characters and up to 8 segments.

So, in order to go above your current limit of 6 characters and 3 segments you would need to upgrade you license to a BRL license.  Whether you go with the business essentials or advanced management depends on the modules you need.  In most cases, a Solomon standard can move to business essentials and not need to go to advanced management.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.
