I'm working with a partner to assist in getting my company onto D3FO using CPOS on our point of sales. We're reviewing the deployment options and I'm not sure I fully believe in the options are partners are providing when it comes to deployment.
Is it true? -
Do I have to download a separate HardwareStation.exe from All Retail Stores for each POS? EXAMPLE: I have 88 stores, each with 2 POS's. Do I have to download a separate HardwareStation.exe for 176 POS's?
It seems like the hardwarstation is just installing the code libraries and generating the IIS functionality and doesn't seem to be specific to any one store (I'm setting HOST to localhost and using a self-signed cert named localhost, it works..). I refuse to believe I need to download the hardware station 176 times and have unique deployment packages for each POS.
OR - Am I being told incorrectly and I can download the HardwareStation.exe once, and use the same .exe across all POS's?
You are correct, Usually, one hardware station set up for one version is sufficient for every store. For CPOS it will be always one version, but coming to MPOS you can have different versions of MPOS running and in that case, you may need to download one or two different versions of hardware station setup, not 176 times.
i have a question,
i have a MPOS with connected hardware . and i want to run CPOS as well on same store, by using same hardware devices ( drawer/printer)which are connected with MPOS .
so should i need to install hardware station on that machine in which i am using CPOS? or what will be the configuration of hardware station , and what will be the " host name" .
is the host name will be that machine in which hardware devices connected or that machine in which CPOS is running?
I am facing an issue when print retail receipt, statement appear " no active hardware station is available" following setup done:
1-Printer Type: Windows Printer in hardware profile
2-Printer name: Same as on printer driver property in hardware profile
3-Printer model: Same as in Printer property in hardware profile
Please advice me how I can resolve this issue
