I need to create a Dynamics 365 package targeting version 8.2. I created a trial on dynamics 365 and created required package but that package targets dynamics 365 v9.1. When I tried to import that package in Dynamics 8.2 I got the error "You can only import solutions with a package version of 8.2 or earlier". How can I create a Dynamics 365 package targeting v8.2 for free.
Yes, you could not import V9 package to V8 solution pools which is not supported in any product. In addition , D365 V8.2 Online are also not supported now.
Could I know more backgrounds surrounding this? Maybe I or other community experts could provide some alternative methods. Thanks.
Thanks Johnny for the response. We need to create a package which can be imported on different versions of dyanmics 365.Is this possible? I also need to ask can we purchase license for Dynamics 365 v8.
You could import solution between different D365 versions while we must obey the rule to import solution from low to high version.
V9 solution has more settings where V8 is not compatible with. So you could only import package from V8 to V9. Thanks.
Johnny Gong can we purchase license for Dynamics 365 V8? In that way we will be able to create a single package which would work with both v8 and v9. Can Dynamics 365 On Premise be the solution for this?
Yes. You could create package in CRM 2016 V8 and import this package in Online V9. This could work normally after you adjust framework and TLS for online V9. Thanks.
