We are doing some preliminary prep work for moving from Dynamics 365 on-prem to online. The one thing I am struggling to find an answer for is some plugin code and custom workflow code that uses Microsoft.Xrm.Tooling.Connector dll deployed on the GAC and an alternative to using that. Both pieces of code start in org A and eventually retrieve data in org B. The plugin may also create or update records in org B. Is there are way for us to still use the xrm.tooling.connector or do we have to explore alternatives, like Power Automate or Azure Functions?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
As an alternative if you want to connect to data in other instance - you can connect to it using WebApi.
If you don't want to rework your code hard you can use WebHooks with Azure Functions on the backend.
