Hi everyone as you know the 2018 October release is coming
around that I did have a few questions you may be able to assist with.
When exactly is this being released in October 2018?
Will this potentially break any of the current functionality is there anything to be aware of that I should to switch over or stop using?
is there a process to delay or defer updates within dynamics 365 or any features coming to stop the October releases being deployed online?
What new features are you excited about/ what should I look in to further?
We are phasing deployments over several weeks following our established safe deployment practices and monitoring updates closely for any issues.
What did you mean in regards to CDU?
CDU - Customer Driven Updates. In the earlier upgrades such as 8.1 to 8.2 or 8.2 to 9.0 based on the dates selected by the customer when they want to upgrade. 9.0.2 (Spring 2018 release) was an automatic push. Similarly 9.0.3 (October 2018 release) will be an automatic update. Of course, this will follow our Safe Deployment process mentioned earlier.
Clarifying one more point - October release will be available on the 1st week of October means any new instance provisioned after this date will be default to the latest version. However, the existing 9.0.2 environments will follow the safe deployment principle only. We follow the deployment region by region and our update process will take several weeks to apply to all the regions.
thank you, my other question i had was when you referenced FAQ for CE what did you mean by this.
