Been slowly preparing for update to new UI and FS update from 7.5.
On the 26/09 FS got upgraded from 7.5 to 188.8.131.52 with no warning in production. I have had to update from 2017 Field Service Mobile to latest FS App and transition customisations as well as create a new Model Driven App as the existing classic UI breaks.
I have checked the portal for messages however was still expecting production to be a deadline of Dec 1. Has anyone else experienced this and am I right in presuming that we have basically transitioned to the new UI now?
Hope you are doing well.
Microsoft is pushing the FS and PSA releases automatically for customers so it is normal that FS updated from 7.5 to 8.x. The understanding is correct that FS transition has been completed if version is 8.x. The December 1 is deadline for legacy web client as per below official document:

We have communicated for nearly a year and a half that customers on the old, end of life, and out of support versions of Field Service and Project Service Automation need to upgrade. Further, we have communicated numerous times for the last 7 months that this upgrade campaign was coming including specific communications with your specific upgrade dates identified.
While we’ve done everything we could to ensure that you had ample notice, we do regret if this has caused you any confusion or disruption.
For clarity, the Field Service run one effort does not mean that the rest of your workstreams (like Sales, Marketing, etc.) have been moved to UCI-only. However, the version of Field Service which has been applied in your environment will not function properly if used in the legacy Web client.
