So the requirement was to setup analytical workspaces and reports on 1 box environment for dev purpose.
I followed the doc at
Which basically has 4 steps.
Can any one please explain how would this work, I am trying to understand how will Power BI embedded service display the data on analytical workspace.
My assumption is that in step 3 we have exported the aggregate tables metadata from app to local db and then exported the metadata from local db , eventually we have imported this to Azure DB. So now our Azure DB has same aggregate table metadata as local db. And then by some means ( which i m not sure as i cannot find it in above config steps , i doubt its the batch job in step 3 ) transactional data of aggregate tables of local db is being pushed to aggregate tables of azure db. Power bi embedded service then inquire the aggregate tables in Azure db and display the data in analytical workspace.
I hope my assumption is correct ? please suggest otherwise.
However when I login to Azure db I see that the aggregate tables data in local db is not there in Azure db.
How can we fix this.
Also I found another doc which i have not used , as I already used the steps from blog above.
The another doc I found was
Is this any different from the 4 steps mentioned in blog above.
Would really appreciate a quick response on this one. I have already search the forums for this and found no answers on how to check if the power bi embedded service is actually working. As mentioned earlier I can see the metadata /structure of aggregate tables being created in my azure db, but i dont see data in it, i do see data in aggregate in my local db though.
This blog has been disabled now. Do you know any other blog of this kind as i have to setup Embedded power BI on my one box VM.
