We want to change the No of decimals for InventQty but it seems like they have sealed the ApplicationSuite Package & also they have not given any option through Extension.
Tried this link but it didn't helped for me. We are using below D365FO version.
Installed product version : Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (8.0)
Installed platform version : Update15 (7.0.4841.35234)
The link you have referred is from my blog-post.
Do you want to try a workaround, please.?
1) Create a New EDT of real type and set the number of decimals as many as you want.
2) create extension for InventQty(EDT) and into the properties change Extends = YourNewlyCreatedEDT.
I cannot grantee if workaround will work for each EDT or not, but for many it can work.
Thanks for the reply,
But if you check InventQty(EDT) extension, the Extends property is non editable. Means the workaround will not work.
is there any other way to achieve the same.
If you want to see only,I suggest you can make the change by the control on the your special form.
Thanks for the reply,
Changing the property on EDT is going the affect the all the related tables & forms. That is what we want.
There is no point in "see only" on special form, if we are not storing the decimal value in the table.
Yes,changing the property on edt is the right way,but no all edt can changing for affect.
What is the exact business requirement here? If you require e.g. 3.4566 meters, you can also create an inventory unit centimeters. Please tell why you need to have more decimals. In 22 years working with ERP, I did not have any implementation where we could not solve decimal issues using another unit.
