I wanted to see if it was possible to set up a price level at an item group level (rather than a discount) or set up a customer which has multiple customers group TA's set up against them. Currently we aren't using a Microsoft system, but migrating to D365 soon.
Basically in our business, we have three price levels. Each customer will be on a main selling level (dependant on where they are based, how important they are) - lets call it P1. Other customers may be on P2, P3 etc as their main selling price, which would be a completely different selling level for all of the products.
For each customer, case by case, we may offer them a better price on a certain group of products. So product group A we decide to give them more help, so we put them on selling level P2 just for that group, which gives them a better price.
And then if they need help with a specific part, we can offer them a special net price just on that specific product.
1) All products - P1
2) Specific product group A - P2
3) Specific item in group A - special net
We can achieve 1) and 3) through trade agreements in Dynamics currently. 2) is where we are having trouble. Ideally we would want to set up Product group A under an Item group, and set a new price level for this customer for that Item group. But it seems as if we can only set an Item Group discount (which for business process purposes isn't practical). Is there a way around that?
Or alternatively is it possible to set the customer up under P1 for all products, and also P2 for a certain group, ie. have 2 customer groups against the same customer and Dynamics chooses the best price?
Hoping someone can help, thanks!
Out of the box, there is no setting to allow multiple price groups. This is a requirement I have seen in the past at some customers as well. It is possible to change the price group on the sales order header, but then it applies to all items of that order.
This requirement requires a customization to get it all automated.
Thanks for the response André, though it's a shame that it isn't possible out of the box. I have seen some other posts on this forum from AX 2012 from people suggesting it was a problem for them also. Is it possible to check if it's on the roadmap from Microsoft anywhere?
