Some of our users no longer (after we upgraded from D365FO 7.3 to 8.1) have the GL Voucher Transactions Report (normally listed after the Accounts Source Explorer) on their GL menus, even though I (as an administrator) can still see it on mine. As it renders as a pop-up on my system, I can't get to see what security setting or role is needed to expose this on the organisations accountants GL workspaces. Anyone know what role will allow it to be displayed and used?
We're running a Production instance of D365FO EE V8.1 PU23 with the first 20 hotfixes already applied (albeit a further 3 appeared the next morning!).
Good Morning IanWarning,
Please check your security diagnostics to identify the roles and priviliges required and compare them with your user setup.
Thankyou Ludwig. Lesson to me is to get an example of the actual report page up, then look at security settings, rather than looking at the popup where you have to enter parameters first - and wonder how to get to the security settings.
Your advice is exactly what we needed. Thank you.
In fact, this didn't fix it. On 7.3, the security settings get shown as per Ludwigs picture. If I do the same for Security Options on the Voucher Transactions page on 8.1 PU23, the Security Diagnostics page is completely blank. Further, setting the security role of the user to "Budget Clerk" (one of the options listed as valid on 7.3), still doesn't show the Voucher Transactions Report on 8.1 PU23. It does work for Admin.
Looks like another bug...
It does look like another bug with 8.1, the menu item is not assigned to an existing privilege, meaning it will not work with any of the security roles.
You will need to add the menu item to a new privilege and then assign this to the relevant duty/role.
Please see the below post where a user has had to do the same:
The biggest pain of all is trying to add a reference to that page using its English description, and no opportunity to use its AOT name when assigning it. I'm still searching for the reference sentence to use :-(
Looked on LCS using AOT object name LedgerTransVoucherQuery and ... see issue 291449. They say it won't be fixed as it's a workaround with the UI - which they then describe.
