I am looking for technical documentation for databases behind Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. I was advised to look at official MS documentation, however it covers only documentation about using Dynamics 365 FO from UI.
For example, I have access to AXDB(ledgedr tables) database and FinancialReporting database(reports and their structure) and I need to understand the purpose and description of tables , how to query specific report structure and setup.
Any ideas if such documentation exist or available from MS side and where to find it?
There is no comprehensive documentation about D365FO database schema. You can look at the table relations to figure out how to find the data. Also web search is your friend since you are not the first one with this question. Look for Dynamics AX discussions, too.
If you have specific questions, you can ask in this forum.
Also please remember that with cloud D365FO you can't access the databases from outside the application.
