Want to increase the fields shown in the lookup of form SalesCreateOrder of Contact control. How can I do it as the jumpRef and lookup method are written on the control.
Behind the scenes, contact person field on SalesCreateOrder form is using form "ContactPersonLookup", you need to edit that form and changes will be reflected in your lookup.
I think you can not do this in your case , display length on UI is controlled by underlying EDT display length property. In your scenario its Name , so if you have to change size on UI , you have to change EDT name which is a base EDT for number of different EDT's. You can add a different control which is copy of existing control with different EDT and handle storing of the value from that custom field.
"You can add a different control which is copy of existing control with different EDT and handle storing of the value from that custom field. "
How can we proceed for this. Can I have to do extinction of Form SalesCreateForm and after that what will I have to do.
Yes you have to create form extension and add control.
Actually in the Form SalesCreateOrder , The contact control lookup has lookup method and in that lookup method ContactPerson.lookupDirContactPerson().
Where code "args.name(formStr(ContactPersonLookup));" is written. Basically "ContactPersonLookup" is the lookup form for the Contact. I have added the control in this form and know its working.
But my issue is know that if this "ContactPersonLookup" is used in some other place also it will show this changes.
Yes, the changes will be reflected at all the places. Here are you options:
1. Let the changes be rolled out to all places. Where all - you can search AOT and use find references.
2. Create duplicate of form but wouldn't recommend it unless you have to use this approach.
Are your changes confidential in nature that you want to try to use step 2 above? If it's just a nuisance, then just deal with it during training and keep users informed.
