To create Sales Order in D365FO, I am using SalesOrderHeader and SalesOrderLine entity through OData call.
while testing, In SalesOrderNumber property i pass the latest number which i got from seeing it from UI.
for example, In UI if the no is SO023034 i will pass as SO023035.
But in real situation this will not work. So in real time, how to tell D365FO to use latest number automatically
Logic will be executed to get a new number from the number sequence settings. If you allow manual numbering, you can specify your own number. If it is set to an automatically number, which is recommended, you can leave it blank and after the insert, you will get the sales order ID in return. That number can be used for the sales order lines.
where I can find number sequence settings to set it automatic for sales order?
Accounts receiveable module - setup-parameters- sales order
go to number sequence code and as long as it is not manual D365FO would create using the pattern provided
