When I try to check a changeset in Visual Studio linked to a DevOps Workitem I get following error message, although the ChangeSet is checked in the branch.
ID 156. Reason: TF237111: The current user does not have permissions to save work items under the specified area path.
I can access to the project, and I belong to the DevOps user group assigned to Contributors. What could be missing so I can hint it to the busy Dev Ops administrator?
The message says that you don't have permissions for the given area path. That you're a contributor doesn't necessarily mean that you have permissions for all areas. For instance, you may have write permissions for work items under your team's area but not areas of other teams.
That setting should be in Project Configuration, Areas. There I see only 1 Area. Under this Area, in security on Contributors I see Edit this node (Not set), Edit Work Items in this node (Allow). Should be Edit this node? Edit Work Items should be enough.
I have seen thes with diffent identifiers, is the user where the Visual studio license is granted to also the same user that logs into DEVOPS?
I checked and both have same user.
"Edit Work Items in this node" set to Allow, still get the same error?
It should be that your users are divided into read-only groups.
