We rolled out expense reports in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations a while ago. We have noticed that when going into "Distribute amounts" within an expense report, a user can change the posting to any GL account they would like. We have trained our users to go to "distribute amounts" to change the financial dimensions for a line, but we'd like to limit the gl accounts they have available to them. Is this possible?
We do have a number of accounts set to not allow manual posting, so some accounts are protected.
You can limit the user to update the ledger account in ‘distribute amount’.
The control display menu item is ‘TrvAccountingDistExpenseReport’ in Maintain expense reports privilege.
Thank you. I can explore the idea of taking the permission away from users. It sounds like there isn't a way to limit the GL accounts available.
You can try mapping user group in > Chart of account > Main Account
