We are trying to setup Microsoft dynamics HR and we are struggling with the email side of things. I have a sandbox environment and also a trial. I have been able to setup the trial fine and easy but the sandbox is where the issue is. I have copied the same settings in there from the trial. The error I get when the system tries to send an email is :
Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Xpp.ErrorException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerFactory.`logDetailedSendFailure(String _mailerName, Exception _exception, Guid _correlationId) in xppSource://Source/ApplicationFoundation\AxClass_SysMailerFactory.xpp:line 231 at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerFactory.logDetailedSendFailure(String _mailerName, Exception _exception, Guid _correlationId) at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerExchange.`sendMessage(MailMessage _message, Boolean _interactive, Guid _correlationId) in xppSource://Source/ApplicationFoundation\AxClass_SysMailerExchange.xpp:line 137 at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerExchange.sendMessage(MailMessage _message, Boolean _interactive, Guid _correlationId) at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerExchange.`sendNonInteractive(MailMessage _message) in xppSource://Source/ApplicationFoundation\AxClass_SysMailerExchange.xpp:line 82 at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysMailerExchange.sendNonInteractive(MailMessage _message) at Dynamics.AX.Application.SysEmailDistributor.`processEmails(Guid _emailProcessorId) in xppSource://Source/ApplicationFoundation\AxClass_SysEmailDistributor.xpp:line 187
Is there anything I need to allow from the from the power platform itself as I am at a loss on this one.
Any help is welcome.
you can refer the settings in this doc https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/organization-administration/configure-email to verify if everything is configured correctly.
Another suggestion would be to check the email distributor batch is running or not
If you have SMTP setup, verify that all user mail accounts that will be used to send emails have to Send As and Send On Behalf Of permissions for the configured SMTP account. You have to check in the Office 365 admin center.
Check if the User options have an Email provider ID and account associated and if the Send notifications in the email are activated.
I have already checked that link but still it would not work.
"Check if the User options have an Email provider ID and account associated and if the Send notifications in the email are activated." where is this option please?
This option is at the top right corner.
The error is coming from batch jobs itself. I have that set to exchange. What I would like to confirm is the account that I use to email out ie firstname.lastname@example.org, does it need to have a hr dymanic license attached. I have a sandbox and a trial in parallel and the sandbox is where I have this email issue where the trial is working fine. The only difference to what I can see is the license but has not tried to add one yet. Just want to get some more info if I am right or not.
Which batch job is giving an error? Can you please provide a screenshot here?
