I am facing this issue on several project.
When we create a task and book a resource against the resource field in WBS gets updated with the resource name booked on the task.
But for many on my projects this resource fields value is disappearing suddenly.
I can see the Project Team Member records on the project. But The resources goes missing from the WBS.
Do you know what could be the reason behind this behavior?
Also, when we go to the project task entity we have a field named "Resource" on the page which is not having any value even when in the WBS we can the resource name. What is the use of this field then?
Hi Neha. If you change the dates on the Bookable Resource Booking and don't change a task's Start and End Date, the Bookable Resource will disappear from the Resources box on the WBS. Could this be the cause?
Resources are assigned on Line Tasks but yeah there is a field Resources (msdyn_assignedresources) and Assigned Team Members (msdyn_assignedteammembers) on the entity's form and these fields seem to always be without value. Tom Patton if you catch this, can you shed some light on these, please?
Thank you for your reply.
I have checked the dates on the Resource Booking is same as the Start and end date on the Task.
Are you able to point out at which point exactly the Resource falls off the wagon on the WBS? If you assign someone on Resources and refresh the WBS, is the Resource still there after the WBS refresh? Is there any code or functionality extension made to how Bookable Resource Bookings or project tasks work?
Yes, Even after the refresh, the resource were there and there is no code running behind the booking of bookable resource.
They suddenly disappeared.
Neha I'm sorry but I have to say I'm out of additional ideas on this one. Are you able to repro this consistently? I think the first thing MSFT will want to know is how to repro this if you open an SR.
Can anyone please tell me what is this field exactly for?
Tom Patton, we need to turn to you on the Q above.
