I have to replicate a booking button functionality on my custom entity. Dynamics gives an option of opening a schedule board from a Book button if enable Resource Scheduling for Entities for the custom entity. But I have to pass parameters like roles, skills, start and end date from custom entity to schedule board. How is that possible? Where can I configure those parameters for my custom entity?
Here are the steps you can modify the Scheduling Assistant for your custom entity (In my case, Library is my custom entity) -
1. Open the Booking Setup Metadata record that was created when you enabled your custom entity. Click on Schedule Board Settings
2. In that, select your Custom Entity and look for Schedule Assistant Filter Layout [This is what you need to prepare your custom filters]
3. Now, the Layout highlighted above needs to be prepared. So, on the right hand side of that Filter Layout control, click the Gear icon to open the Configuration window of the XML used by the filter. Click on Save As to start modifying your filters you pass so that you don't mess up with the Default Filters.
5. Name it to your Custom Entity Layout Filters so that you identify it when you want to use it. Now, make your changes and save. Now, modify accordingly and it should show you the filter that you design.
About adding your own filters, you can refer this blog - www.cloudfronts.com/extend-schedule-board-filter-section-in-d365-field-service-psa
Hope this helps
MNarmeen I think what you might need is Resource Requirements. They define to-from, duration, etc etc. Elaiza Benitez has a good article on enabling custom entities for scheduling:
