I'm trying out a rudimental way to invoice time entries via opportunities --> quotes --> project & project contract.Everything (including creating the new project in the quote line detail screen) runs fine up to the moment that I want to close the quote as "Won".When trying to do so, I now get the error message mentioned in the title. In the project data, I have only entered the name of a project manager and for the rest left the data as they were taken over from the quote. The problem is that I have already done this at least 30 times before in (as far as I can see) always the same way, and never got that message until now.Anyone any idea what could be causing this?
Is this on PSA version 3.x?
I'm using Dynamics 365, not sure where I can find the PSA version..
This project must be getting used somewhere else in some other contract or Quote. Please check.
No it certainly isn't.
Since we want to start using this as from the start of 2019, we want to create new project with names starting with "2019".
There isn't any project like that, neither are there quotes or contracts like that.
In the mean time I have tried with 6 differten qutoe/project combinations, and I always get the same error.
I found out now that, when I create the project contract manually (i.e. not via the "close as won" of the quote), and then indicate the opportunity and quote I created before, everything works fine...
I assume it is still allowed to use the same name for the quote and the project assigned to it? Up to now I always did it like that...
You can verify your PSA solution from Settings -> Solutions. Look for PSA and its version number. About the problem. I've seen something similar in PSA V3.x a couple of times but I haven't been able to pinpoint the exact scenario.
I suggest you open a Service Request about this and repro both the issue as well as a scenario where you are able to assign a Project to Quote Line/Order Line. A video is usually the easiest for the Support Engineers if you can make one.
I will indeed open a service request.
PS the PSA version is 126.96.36.199
