Want to update PSA to v3. (From 126.96.36.199) Have done the insider registration, and have acsess to PSA v.3 in the D365 admin portal. But what is the best way to remove the old PSA solutions? Is there any considerations to take?
I can see that some have had to have Microsoft Support to remove old solution and to give access to PSA V3. Is this the best way? Or ?
Is there a specific reason why you want to remove PSA first instead of upgrading from V1 to V3?
No, but when I follow the instruction in the link. The installations end in failure. So It was just to see if that is an option.
Out of curiosity, does it appear part of the upgrade installed? Can you see PSA in the Unified Interface? If so try to create a record and let me know what happens.
Sometimes the update may fail for different reasons. If it keeps failing, a support request is the way forward.
This is true. I would recommend logging a support ticket and having support/engineering assist.
I am also having the same problems with upgrading to v3 (from v2.4). I have been in contact with Microsoft Support for the past six weeks. Last week they informed me that there will be a bug fix in v3.4, which will be released in the next couple of weeks, that will fix the upgrade issues. Of course every situation is different. Hope this will help you as well.
So - to give an update. The next day we got an update solution that we started. That installation gave us success to access V3. but it had status "failed" because it didn't remove V.2. But for some mysterious way, it started running again and we got success on everything.
The sandbox environment was down 30 min. And we have raised a ticked to Microsoft to see if there is anything we can do "better" when we update production environment.
Thanks for help!
Nora, PSA v3.4 is now being distributed. This will hopefully help in the update.
FYI, version 3.4 was available for my sandboxes today and solved the upgrade issues.
