I have D365v9 Online with Project Service Automation and Field Service installed. I am trying to copy over all of the setup data (resource roles, transaction categories, etc.) from this instance into another which is identical, just doesn't have the setup data. There are no customizations that need to come over. Also no data can come over (transaction data, contacts, accounts, etc.) other than this setup data. I presume this is a simple export and import, correct? What is the best practice to do this?
When I do attempt to export then import setup data for example, transaction categories, the source system import view shows "Completed" but zero records. What am I doing wrong?
I assume that you have a System Admin role.
Yes, export to a .csv file and import from that file is the way to do it.
If value in Total Processed also shows 0, it may mean that something is wrong with your .csv file.
There is useful documentation on MS Docs also:
I hope this helps a bit.
