When ever we create a project task against a project then "Effort hours" get equally distributed in resources. Refer below Screen:
Dynamics365 allow us to update hours manually:
But When we add one more resource in project task then updated hours over-written by system and it equally divide hours for all three resources.
I want to restrict system to update my existing resource efforts. For eg. If I add new resource in existing task then system will not distribute hours equally.
Is it possible?
You may try adding a tick box on resource assignment entity called 'Lock effort' and have a workflow that prevents changes to effort when tick box ticked. It may work. You are basically trying to control a behavior that updates effort on an existing assignment when a new assignment is created for a project task. The automatic distribution is probably done by a plugin. You should be able to design and build a workflow that prevents it. Worth trying. I hope it helps.
