I need to add the "Resource Utilization" on my D365 application:
I went to the "Project Operations" app and, on the Site Map, I copied the URL:
The, on my own App, I'm trying to add a Subarea with that URL as a web resource:
However, when I click on Save, I'm getting this error:
What am I doing wrong?
I appreciate your help.
when testing on my environment, I receive the same validation on the URL field, blocking the Update of the sitemap.
What I observe though is that you have selected "Type" in your Subarea.
When I compare with the out of the box Subarea, I can see that the "Type" attribute is empty.
When I add the Subarea without a "Type" value, my custom sitemap does not open at all, so I would not recommend trying that out (although it bypasses the initial validation error).
I see 3 options for you on how to proceed with that:
1. You can raise a support request to have that investigated.
2. Workaround #1: You can create a new model driven app, copy the Project Operations App on creation (this will use it as a template on creation). You will end up with a copy of PO sitemap, having the Resource Utilization subarea working properly and adjust the rest, according to your needs.
3. Workaround #2: If you are curious and want to explore more, you can download the Sitemap XML definition of Project Operations, I believe this will give you additional hints on how this subarea is exactly defined. You can test copying that XML node (subarea) into your custom XML definition, this might work for you.
