Hi..I am having trouble with the Remote Assist app. The annotations made on the surface keep shifting when we move our head ( any surface. We tried with glass, metal and painted wall). The arrow function is more stable and does not move as much as the annotations made with pen do. Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there a solution to this?
Are you using a HoloLens 1 or HoloLens 2 device? Please look in your Settings and provide me what version of the app you are using.
Are you observing that the holograms are dramatically shifting each time you move your head - without large body movements? If so, can you please provide me a video and/or recording of the scenario in a private message to my profile?
If the room has been properly scanned before hand, HoloLens should provide stable Arrows and Annotations (stable means less than few inches drift).
HoloLens/Remote Assist won't anchored correcty the annotation/arrow, if the surface is:
- too far (>4meters, 13ft) and never seen by the HoloLens => the anchor will float at few feet of distance
- glossy (metal, paint) or transparent (glass) => the anchor will hit the reflected surface or go through
