we have added an image for an item in D365. However when we push the data to channel DB, we are unable see the product image on CPOS & MPOS.
what could be the reason?
Product images are driven from Retail Media Server. You have to put the images inside the folder with some specific name then only it will show in MPOS & CPOS.
Thanks you for your response.
However, we are unable to reach the Media Server to create a shared folder.
Media folder is in Retail Server website. You have to put the images in the same folder and other necessary configuration is done in D365.
You can use the fiddler for more information for image URL.
Thank you for your valuable information Neeraj!
Finally i was able to find that folder and place the image and it worked.
However, in production D365 we as users don't have access to RDP of the server, in that case how we can manage.
I will definitely let you know once I have clear cut picture and information on this.
Right now I don't want to comment with limited knowledge.
I need your help on this i have place my image on folder but product image is not showing on MPOS i have done all necessary setup. Can you help me on this
Placing the images on the server folder will not work for Production since we don't have the persmission to access the server.
"The images that appear in Retail Modern POS (MPOS) must be hosted externally, outside Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail. Typically, they are hosted in a content management system, content delivery network (CDN), or media server. MPOS then fetches and displays the images for the appropriate entities, such as products and catalogs, by accessing the target URL. To fetch these externally hosted images, MPOS requires the correct URL format for the images. You can configure the required URL format for the images by setting up the Media base URL value in the channel profile and using the Define media template functionality for each entity."
I have found the below document and we were able to achieve this for one of the client;
try the steps mentioned in the above link.
Thank you for your reply.
Please, can you confirm either you add an image with the product through Browser or media gallery?
can you show me steps that you have done.
I am unable to see the image of new products and some products still showing old images although I have changed in the folder and ran all jobs,
Hi Faraz, when you change the images, check the catelog and see whether the image has changed.
I am unable to add the Images for product master.
And I am currently adding picture one by one, is there anyway that i can upload? using 365
If you have used the retail product image media as noted here then use the export to excel. Provided you have these in the same directory structure you can edit in excel and publish and the images will all be present. If you are still stuck I'll post some screenshots for you.
The media stuff works fine - we pull ours from our website directory so we are consistent.
Can you please post some screenshots?
You first need to define in the channel profile the media server. This is in the form Https:// xxxxxx/ xxxxx etc.
Note you can only have 1 of these.
You will need to validate the profile within the channel profiles when you have added it. You will see the button.
Then go to product images in Retail menus
Ignore the images bit here – these are d365 and offline / whs app images.
Go to Define media template
So once in here you will get the following screen.
The file path will have picked up from the media setting we did earlier. You can change the file extension you use to whatever you want from the dropdown…they just have to be the same.
The file name is preset by D365. It looks like this for us as we use vatriants.
Then go to the Media URLs and click “generate URLs. This will scan your product file and pick up all the relevant products you have.
Once this is done click edit in excel – you will get the following;
In here you can edit the file names to what you want, delete and add as appropriate. You also need to update the ending on the url
Note – if you delete or amend large amounts in one go it takes some time to do this. When you are done, use the publish button the right to push these out to d365 and then these will sync through the distribution jobs down to POS.
Thanks you so much, I got what you said, but still there are minor confusion.
Can you come on Skype and I will share my screen, That will be very helpful for me.
Thanks in advance.
