I googled and tried to find an answer already but appearantly I am doing something wrong or I am missing something. Could you please give me a hand here? I am the new system admin of a project with not much documentation about its security privileges.
The two security roles "A-Role" and "B-Role" have full read and write access to "account" and "contacts" entity. The customer now wishes that all users within "A-Role" and "B-Role" shall be able to run on-demand workflows, but the button "Run Workflow" is not viewable at all by them, like hidden. (I can see it with my sys admin privileges)
Is there any other way than people before myself from the old company did hide this button on purpose for example via XRM Ribbon Workbench (currently I don't have access yet) to make it not able to view by these users or is this the only option to unhide it again?
Or am I missing anything?
Thanks in advance!
All the Best,
Make sure A-Role and B-Role has Execute Workflow Role Privilege assigned.
You can find this privilege under role -->Customization tab --> Miscellaneous privileges
Another option is to check this button is hidden by using some customization as you mentioned already.. you can download entity customization and check it in customization XML file.. is there any hidden actions defined for this button.
Hope this will help..
It is unlikely that the button is hidden completely because you being a system admin can see it. I think its is related to the security permission. As suggested above check if the security role has permission to Execute Workflow.
You should give the role Execute Workflow Job bellow Customization tab so that you can see Run Workflow button.
I tried on my environment and it worked well.
without permission Execute Workflow Job:
with permission Execute Workflow Job:
Hope it helps
