I would like to double check if anyone has ever found a solution on the the scenario below when it comes to goals.
We have a set goals for Meetings Completed. The normal way we would have the Meeting owners as the main user where in Dashboard targets would show the Progress.
What if we had multiple individuals who attended the meetings added to a Look up field (Additional Owners/Staff e.g ) and should have all their goals updated as well as the Meeting Owner's goals.
I am thinking of an automated where we carbon copy the closed meeting and Create However many Meetings as the number of "Additional" Owners/Staff have attended that meeting.
Of course we would have the same meeting Created multiple times just with Owner's changing which is not a GREAT solution.
Any insight or different angle you may have come across I would be happy to hear.
Thanks a lot
Is the Meeting a custom entity, or the out-of-box appointment entity ? If it's the appointment entity, then there will be an activityparty record for each attendee. It may be possible to create goals on the activityparty entity (filtering by participationtypemask)
If the Meeting is a custom entity, you could create and intersect entity (i.e. an entity with N:1 relationships to the Meeting and User) to store the attendees, and create goals on the intersect entity
Thanks for the reply.
We are using the Appointment entity and the Optional Meeting Attendees would be the Users which Goals Actual figure should increase by +1 after meeting is completed.
Would I be able to achieve this via a Workflow in Appointment Entity or at the ActivityParty record?
if true how would I increase the Actual for any of the goals?
Would I need maybe C# or JS?
Thank you David!
That was the correct approach. I will add Blog post on this here soon :)
