we want to introduce the new united interface to our users and are facing the issue with dialogs. We have about 5 important dialogs in Dynamics 365 which are being used daily. We cannot work without them.
I could make our workflows available through Microsoft flows, but dialogs are not working in the same way. I have heard, that Microsoft will no longer support dialogs in united interface and want to ask, if someone knows what a workaround for that could be.
Our Dialogs mainly send emails to specific Email-Addresses (Lead as Email).
Thank you in advance
Hi, since Dialogs are deprecated, perhaps you could use embedded Canvas PowerApps for your application. Refer this - readyxrm.blog/.../replacing-a-dynamics-365-dialog-with-an-embedded-canvas-powerapp
Hope this alternative helps!
As Priyesh mentioned you should start looking at an alternative for Dialogs.
Possibly Canvas Apps, Flows, Xrm.Navigation.openWebResource or maybe even alert.js. I have seen it working in Unified interface.
Once Classic Interface and Unified Interface reach parity, meaning that all the features of the classic interface are available in Unified Interface, there will be no reason to keep both, and most likely classic interface will be deprecated. I am sure you still have some time, but it's worthwhile to start researching that.
Hope this helps.
You need to embed the canvas PowerApps instead of Dialogs.
Are the canvas PowerApps able to send an email from Dynamics365?
Yeah. We can add the custom button in the canvas power Apps. from the custom button you can use the Microsoft Flows and send an email from Dynamics 365
Correct, combination of Canvas PowerApps and MS Flows will get your work done.
Also, PowerPlatform is the future.
