AFAIK you cannot update field once the opportunity is closed. You can refer the below thread on the same topic-
Hope this helps.
Once opportunity is closed you cannot update it without reopening as there are backed opportunity closure activity is also being closed.
if you need to update a filed along with opportunity closure event, you use a sync plugin with pre-operation event. or realtime workflow before operation.
Hope this helps,

we can use Excel exporting and importing to do it.
1. Go to Closed Opportunities view, don't choose any records, click Export to Excel > Static Worksheet on the command bar.
(If you have a small amount of records to modify, it is recommended to click Open in Excel Online to modify it online.)
2. Open the downloaded Excel file and click Enable Editing. Select Won/Lost in the Status column. Save after modifying it.
3. Go back to the Closed Opportunities view and click on Importing from Excel on the command bar. Upload the modified Excel file. Wait a while, the changes will take effect.
You could go to Settings > Data Management > Imports to see your uploaded file.
If its Status Reason is Completed and the number of successes is greater than 0, the modification will take effect. If the number of successes is equal to the total, the modification is fully effective.
Lu Hao is correct I have done this many times. My bad forgot this.
I think Lu Hao suggested one time process also user need to do it manually.
In case if you want to automate process you must need to reopen opportunity anyway using workflow or plugin.
Thank you for the responses. I was able to do it using online update suggested by Lu Hao.
Do we have any way of updating the Closed Cases as well?
No closed cases you wont be update. I had tried the same to do via plugin as well but it dint work.
