i am looking for a way to forecast the upcoming workload via opportunities in D365we have 12 different expert teams with their own expertise
i would like to create 12 fields on the opportunity form, where our sales colleagues can fill in the number of hours for every expertise used in that opportunity, so i can sort of predict from the 60% opportunity stage, the workloads in hours coming up for our expert teams
for example, all opportunities closed next month have follwing workloads for each expert team;
400 hours Development300 hours Exchange600 hours End user adoption300 hours SharePoint Online
what would be best practice to do this?are there things to be taken in account, which i should think over?many thanks in advance for your suggestions.best regards Leo
I would create a custom Workload entity for this and use the 1:N relationship between Opportunity and this custom entity to add/show an editable subgrid on the Opportunity form. You could create the 12 workload records per Opportunity by workflow, so you only have to fill out the number of hours per record/line.
With a report you're able to get the total hours per expert team per month easily.
Thank you for this suggestion, i will implement it like you said
Best regards Leo Kerkhof
