I have a requirement from the business to prevent orders from being generated when a quote is won. I have been researching methods on how to do this and I can't seem to find a solution. Is it possible to prevent an order from being generated automatically?
The normal way to win quote is to click the Create Order button, then enter Date Won and click OK.
If you want to click OK and only win the quote without creating an order, this is not possible.
This dialog does not support customization.
We can win the quote through the workflow, so that we can bypass the step of creating an order to directly win the quote. Proceed as follows:
1) Create a new workflow with the quote entity. Select "Scope" as "Organization", check "As an on-demand process".
2) Add a step - "Change Status", select "Quote" and "Won".
3) Activate this workflow. Go to the quote, click the Flow button on the command bar then click this workflow.
This will make this quote the Won state.
The disadvantage of this way is that the Date Won field and the Description field have no value.
Thanks Lu Hao, I shall give this a go!
