Recently our Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate was renewed before it expired. We now have a big problem with CRM inside Outlook either with the Client or the App. The message simply says 'Can't connect to Exchange'. The errors suggesting that Outlook is now unable to pass the user credentials to Dynamics so basically cannot sign the user into Dynamics.
Interestingly Dynamics is still communicating with Outlook. An email or appointment can be created in Dynamics and it will pass through to Outlook OK. I have tested the email server profile connection in Dynamics 365 the test is successful.
We have a hybrid setup, Exchange 2016 Server with Dynamics 365 online.
Any ideas or suggestions on what needs to happen - I assume inside the Exchange Server - to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Have you solved the issue now? If it still exisits. I woud suggest the following operations:
Error "Can't connect to Exchange" is probably caused by misconfigured Exchange server.
In order to fix this make sure OAuth is enabled on Microsoft Exchange. For the steps to configure Exchange, seehttps://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/add-ins/web-services#authentication-and-permission-considerations-for-makeewsrequestasync
We found some similar issue where mailbox using CNPA Exchange 2016 Email Server Profile which describe that Exchange API Used - Exchange 2007. Exchange 2007 is not supported in App for outlook. You could also ask customer upgrade Exchange Server, or configured user mailboxes to another Email Server Profile.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
