I have created some custom views to show a subset of contacts with fetchxml and that all works great. But the search box on the view form will search ALL contacts.
Do we have the ability to update the "Quick Find Active Contacts" view and change the fetchxml on it and then save it?
I tried using the View Designer and FetchXML builder in the XRM toolbox, I opened that view made my changes but it won't save and I just get "an unexpected error has occurred".
Yes, but you must go from the Customize the System area and navigate to your Contacts entity, not XRM Toolbox. Quick Find has TWO different lookup types. One of which is the rendering, and the other is the find filter. By default, the filter only filters out disabled Contacts, but you can build your filter. Note, this is not as flexible as full Advanced find, due to filtering limitations, so it may not be the exact same results as your new default view.
Also, you only have one Quick find filter, so once you make this, ALL contact quick finds will use this filter, not just ones on your new view.
