I got this "nice to have" functionality request from a customer where they want to display the status reason (from the business process flow) in the list view as a dropdown box when editable.
Is it possible to make the field in the editable list view a dropdown box?
Unfortunately, the field ‘status reason’ cannot be used as a drop-down box in the editable view, it is locked.
So, I recommend you use Excel online to edit it.
Do not select any records in the view, then click Export to Excel > Open in Excel Online on the command bar.
In Excel Online, you can edit the field ‘status reason’ as the drop-down box.
After editing, click the Save button and all changes you make to the view will be imported into D365.
Of course, if a view doesn't have the field ‘status reason’ , you need to add it to the view first, then open Excel Online.
Don't forget to mark the verified answer by clicking Yes.
