Hi i'm hoping someone can help, i'm quite new to Dynamics and this is a question to see if this is even possible for a start. I'll try to explain how we have things set up at the moment for context, so you have an idea of what i'm trying to achieve
We have 2 Price Lists:
Each Price List contains various price list items (for example, Software License contains 3 different licenses to choose from, and Services contains 3 different services to choose from such as Integration or Custom Development)
We have 2 Unit Groups:
The Software Licenses are items priced per Site, and the Services are items priced per Day (1 week of Integration @ £800 per day for example)
The question i have is - in the Opportunity the Est. Revenue is system calculated from the items we put in which gives us an overall figure. Is there a way to break this down like below:
Is there a way to show that info on the Opportunity, and also in reports? I'm guessing there's quite a bit of work involved, i'm just struggling on where to start
If anyone else has done the same thing, or can assist and point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated
You will be able to get the data that you want from the opportunityproduct entity. There are 2 main ways to do the calculation:
I would normally go for option 1, as you'd only need to setup the rollup fields once, and the data can also be viewed on the opportunity or in views. There are some limits to the complexity of the filters you can use in rollup fields, so it may be you need to use reports.
Note that rollup fields are updated every hour by default, and not immediately
Thanks for replying so quickly David, what you're suggesting sounds good. I'll give it a go on Monday and report back
Appreciate your help
