The Excel export/import is a fantastic feature. My customer would like to see an Alert pop-up that shows if the import was successful and/or failed. Of course, this data is available through Advanced Settings > Settings > Data Management > Imports. Try getting an end user to do that without their eyes glazing over. Is there way put this information into an Alert or Email with Flow?
You have to program for it. It is currently impossible to do it in OOB way.
Please refer to these themes.
In addition, I would recommend you suggest your idea to Microsoft.
Unfortunately, there is no any way to send email after completion of data import if we try with OOB feature.
In case of SSIS package you could do that
Data import operation is an async process , and also Dynamics 365 does not support any customization in the Data import grid. So there is no way to set notification for that.
Thanks! Your responses back up my initial feeling. I tried to create a PowerAutomate to notify, but it failed with the message "Data Import" entity is not enabled for change tracking.
