We are in the process of figuring out data migration from our on-prem solution to our coming online solution. One issue that we are seeing is if it is possible to keep the record GUIDs from the old system. Is that possible?
There is a way to keep guids. Check my post on migration from ground to cloud - butenko.pro/.../
One piece that you not be able to preserve is ids of users but there are multiple ways to make the mapping work the right way.
Thank you for the response. So it could also be done in the CRM destination component editor like "created on" and "owner" fields, or how would you do it?
To transfer CreatedOn you should point CreatedOn from the source to "Overridden Created On" in destination.
Regarding transfer of owner there could be different strategies but I would recommend to create some kind of mapping table that will contain pairs of users between source and destination and use it to lookup up a user for destination based on user id from source.
