I recently purchased licenses for Dynamics 365 Sales Professional. But when I log in to Microsoft admin center I am just getting an option to configure the production instance. There's no sandbox instance. I thought whenever you buy a license you get one production and one sandbox along with it. Or is there something that I need to configure in order to see the sandbox instance?
OR I need to purchase a sandbox instance? and then add it to production? If that's the case then how to buy?
You can now create as many instances as you wish, as long as you have the storage available, each instance is 1GB when deployed. Although potentially this may not be allowed with Sales Professional licencing?
How would i create multiple instances? Where to check the storage?
Also, am i able to create instances with Sales Professional Licences??
Go to the Admin centre and click new at the top to create a new environment, I'm not sure if it's restricted with a Sales Professional Licence but it will tell you I'd imagine if you try.
Storage is under the Analytics tab https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/analytics/capacity
Hi, thanks for the info. I do have enough storage. For the database, it's showing 10 gigs, file: 20gig and log: 2 gigs.
Yes I can create a sandbox instance using this link admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments
I created one. But it seems the instance is just for power platform and its apps. I cannot see the sandbox instance in the instance picker port.crm.dynamics.com/.../InstancePicker.aspx
How would I connect that sandbox instance to my D365 Sales Professional??
You should have got an option to include Dynamics 365 Apps when you created it.
Its grayed out. Cannot access the option Enable Dynamics 365 apps.
Do i need to configure production first in order to get/access this option?
I'm not sure to be honest, I doubt it. See if you get the option once Production is enabled, you could always copy your production instance to the CDS instance you created.
Okay thanks will try that. By the way if that doesn't work then how can i copy the production instance to CDS?
You can refer this article docs.microsoft.com/.../environments-overview as well which will assist you in managing the environment in Power Portal Admin center
