We are having an issue getting the email feature for the app for the phone/tablet. In the web browser, the user has the ability to email. They also have the system admin role. When they open the app on their tablet/phone, the Email activity is not available. If they open an email it says "Read Only: You don't have access to edit Email Messages". I'm not sure if this is a security issue at this point or something we are missing setup on for the app.
Please advise. Thanks!
Emails are always read only as they are completed activities? What App are you using the Dynamics 365 for mobile app?
Sorry for the confusion. He gets the error when trying to create new emails or respond to an email from within the Dynamics 365 app for phone/tablet. If he goes to the activities dropdown, in the web version e-mail is available but in the app version it is not. I am unsure about your second question. He is using the Dynamics 365 app downloaded from the apple store.
Have you enabled "Read-Only in Mobile" for the Email entity?
So I just had a look on my iPhone app and experience the same scenario as you described and Read Only for email isn't checked however it seems it's locked down and can't be changed according to Microsoft Docs. I guess as you'd use the email app on your phone for email?
Thank you for the replies. Lu Hao, I checked the setting for email and it is set to enable for mobile and read-only is unchecked. I think that Paul may have found the issue being that it is not currently available to respond to emails in the app.
Thank you all for your assistance!
Can you please mark my answer as verified if it answered your question, thanks.
