I am building up our Dynamics 365 sales to our business needs with some new worksteps.
The functionality of the marketing list entity is perfect for our needs. I have found information here on the community that it is not possible to copy an entity (correct me if i'm wrong) so I am wondering, Is it possible to create a new entity, and then in some way to build up the "manage members" functionality that excists in a marketing list? and also the functionality "create opportunity" for a marketing list to be able to distribute opportunities to different accounts (members) in a list?
Your help would be very much appreciated!
You can't use OOB Marketing related functionality for custom entities so you have to build your own and you have 2 ways depending on people available in your team:
1. If you have developers - you can ask them to build apps using Html/JS that will do whatever you need.
2. If you don't have developers - you can use Canvas Apps to build it.
Hello, Correct me if i'm wrong here, but isn't Canvas apps only for phones and tablets? or can it be used for the Web as well?
It can be used in web as well and eve integrated into CE - docs.microsoft.com/.../embed-canvas-app-in-form
When I create a new canvas app I need to choose phone or tablet, I can not choose web. Or does it matter what I choose if i only will use it as an embeded app in the model- driven form? And also, do you know how I could create such an app? do I need to do everything from scratch? or can I add the "manage members functionality" in some way?
Type of app should not matter but I would say choose Tablet.
I'm afraid that you will have to create everything from scratch.
