I have scenario like, we should get some kind of confirmation from the user/admin when adding attachments to Email/Email Template. Is this possible by customizing the OOB buttons?
I thought of customizing the 'Attach File" button on Email form Ribbon and "New Attachment" button "activitymimeattachment" entity subgrid.
But am not sure how to add additional Function before the standard Action of the button? Also execute the standard action only if the user select Yes on confirmation dialog.
Any guidance from the commnnity would be helpful.
Could you share more details like who do you want to ask for confirmation. Do you just want a windows confirm pop out to select 'Yes' or 'No' for current customer.
If it is, you could set OOB 'new attachment' as disable. Insert web resource with windows confirm dialog to mail form onload event and set 'new attachment' as enable if user click yes.
Please share more details regarding your requirement if above suggestion doesn't meet your requirements.
Hi Lingyun Gong, Thanks for the suggestion.
The option of hiding the button is good. But we don't need it on the form load instead it is required to show confirmation when user tries to click on attach file button or + button on the attachment grid.
The scenario is when we create an email(Any one using CRM) or Email Template we have an option to add attachments to it. When the user tries to add an attachment , we need to display the confirmation message and based on the user selection "Yes" or "No" we should allow attaching.
If user selects Yes then allow otherwise don't allow.
