We have users who are based in CAN, that would like their opportunities to be in CAN dollars, but Dynamics does not allow a change halfway through the process, there are 2 errors that will pop up. Just in case anyone else has this issue, I have found the work around for it.
Through our business process flow, the process begins with a lead - where a potential product is entered and the customer information is filled out. When the lead is qualified into an opportunity, Dynamics brings in the potential product. If you attempt to change the currency on an opportunity, this error will display:
If the products are removed - and the user attempts to update the currency again, the following error will display:
Logically, check the security role permissions for Quote. if yours are present, then there needs to be another solution. For me, as sys admin, I know the read permissions are organization wide - the write, append, etc are user specific.
I contacted Microsoft RE this issue - and there is not a background fix for these errors.
SOLUTION: When the user is set up in the system, they can pick a default currency though the personalization settings (gear icon). Canadian users need to select CAN dollars. This will correct the errors that present in the system, the only difference being that when the lead qualifies, the potential products won't come in from the lead process. Which isn't a set back, since the work around is to remove the product anyway.
