HIWe have set up our user hiearchy in CRM by using a custom field. We were not able to use the standard manager field due to restrictions related to our Business Unit set up: the standard manager field could not be set if the manager was located in another business unit then the user. Thanks for any feedback on this. Best regards Mirja
are you looking for Forecasting or Org Chart feature this capability.
we have just started using sales insight and found out, that sales insights user hiearchy is based on the standard manager field in CRM.
Therefore we would like to set up our hiearchy using the standard manager field, but we are not able to, as our users are in different business units. We are not able to add a manager to a user, which is in a different BU than the user himself.
Best regards Mirja
Manager's should be from same or either parent Business Unit. Here is a similar thread on this error:
It seems like you cannot create a custom hierarchy in the User Entity, you have to move the Managers to either same or parent BU.
Hithanks for your reply. We cannot move all managers to the same or a parent BU. Let me give you an example:
we have sales companies in most countries in Europe. Access to data is limited for most of our users to own BU!
The heads of all sales companies of South Europe have a manager, who is at the same time head of Italy, who also owns data in BU Italy. Therefore it is important that whenever he creates records these are in BU Italy and accessible to the Italien users. For this reason, we cannot put this person in a parent BU of all South-European BUs, but have him added to BU Italy instead. He gets access to the data of the other South-European countries via sharing (using owner teams).
Any idea how we can solve this issue?br Mirja
