I need to hide my Strategic opportunity type from everyone everywhere in CRM system and they should be only visible to Strategic security role.
Do you know how I can achieve this?
Is there a way to hide this opportunities from all user regardless of their level of access, and allow only Strategic team to see those
Many Thanks Elly
One approach it´s to use Territories
Create teams for each territories
Assign roles to this teams and add users
Info about Territories
Yes, if your users have BU level access only on the opportunity then create a separate BU called 'Strategic BU'.
Then create a new team under this new BU and assign the strategic opportunity to this team.
You can then add the member within this team and only those will get access..
Suppose your user has Parent-Child access - then you need to create this BU on top of the current BU.
If your user has Org level access then you won't be able to hide them - unless you write a Retrieve plugin - but I discourage you to do that since it has a performance impact.
If you have a position/manager hierarchy set then that will supersede above - and the manager will be able to see what his directs are seeing. In that case, plugin is the only way forward.
Thank you, Prateek, for the great suggestion.
But my challenge is most of my users have organization-level access, and for that reason, BU might not work.
Thank you JSilva, I never worked with territory before. Do you know if territories will hide the strategic opportunities from all the users?
Also, I have the Power BI dashboards, and I don't want these opportunities to be available there.
You need to do a workaround,
see my suggestion - test it
I never had requirement like this, but i saw people solve similar situations in this way
Create a team for each territories - (in your case I think you need only one - Strategic Accounts)
Org level access is higher access than your user actually needs.
If you can reduce the permission to parent -child-level then OOB approach can work. Any reason you can't reduce the permission of the user?
Thank you for all your explanations.
I will look for a way to reduce the Org level access for security roles to benefit from OOB functionality.
Thank you again
