hi alli wonder if someone can point me in the right direction with thisi would like to make an extra subgrid on the opportunity form, one which behaves and looks just like the OOB stakeholders one, in which i can select (crm) users who are involved with the opportunity, an give them a role ass well
many thanks in advance for any advice
Thank you for your query.
You cannot exactly replicate Stakeholders grid.
For this purpose, you can use Connections.
Add Connections subgrid to your form:
Please note, add connection will open a new form (no quick create), and if you need to set the a Default connection, see here:
Also, here is another approach:
There is already a sub-grid "Sales team" on the Opportunity form that meets your requirement.
If you would like to create another one, you can imitate the "Sales team" sub-grid to create it.
Step 1. Create a new view for Connection entity.
Edit the filter criteria as follow.
If the filtering of this sub-grid view is exactly the same as that of the "Sales team" sub-grid view, then the records of these two sub-grids will also be exactly the same.
You can create a new Connection Role for this sub-grid and use it in the view filter, so that the records of the new sub-grid can be distinguished from the records of the "Sales team" sub-grid.
Step 2. Insert a sub-grid on the Opportunity form, select the Entity to Connection (Connected From), the Default View is the created view.
Step 3. The new sub-grid does not have the +New button, it is disabled by default, so we will edit the command of the +New button in the ribbon workbench to display it.
Please refer to this blog:
If you want to know how the ribbon workbench is used, you can refer to this video series:
Hi Wahaj, thank you very much for your suggestion! (connections was the missing link for me)
