i have created a custom field in pricelistitem table called tax as we have different tax per product and unit.
so when i select a product in the quick add opportunity product i want to pull the tax value from the price list item and add it to the tax field of the opportunity product and do the calculation before i save or after i save the record to the table.
so this will help in calculating the tax per line on opportunity and then will roll up to the whole opportunity and save the sales rep to manually lookup the tax percentage and manually do the calculation.
can you please help me in how do i achieve that?
i have been stuck on this for 3 days now.
You can use some of the following possible options:
1. Script which will get pricelist from the parent opportunity and will query pricelist for the text field and fill it on the field on load of the opportunity product main form or quick cerate form (this will only work when you will create from UI)
2. Another option is write plugin on create of the opportunity product which will do same, you can have it on precreate of the opportunity product, this will when record is created from UI or using sdk service call from other application.
Other options could be to use flow do the same thing.
Use XrmToolBox FetchXML builder to help build the query, you can then use the FetchXml or get it to show you the oData query etc and then use oData or the Web Api to retrieve the results
odata query will be something like the following but using your own values and fields
