i am a newbie in dynamics so sorry for silly questions.
I created a custom entity CE that is related to Email entity with 1:N relation. in CE I can add a related entity Email with a lookup. In Emails the related CE shows up in a field.
I have to create a workflow, that applied to an email record does the following:
- updates some fields in the email record
- creates a CE record
- assign to the CE record created the email record selected as a related entity.
I can’t find the way to realise the third point using workflows, can anyone help? Thank you
If you have created a workflow targeting at Email entity and set a step to create a record of CE in the workflow,
(Here is an example of creating a CE with the Subject of the email as its name.)
then add a new step to update the Email record.
Set the properties of the update.
After setting above steps, save and activate the workflow. Then create an email.
You’ll get the related CE after saving the Email.
If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.
Thank you very much Nya, it DID work!
