The below is my custom save of the default 'Activities' Report. I have realised it does not show the option for activities against leads in my reporting.
I tried to add lead and account to this area by amending this section of my reports, but that doesn't seem to display any additional areas on the filtering criteria?
I have used 'Advanced find' to produce this query, and display results of this including activities against all Entity's as i would like (Leads, Accounts Opps) but as soon as i click run report it seems to default to the settings above. Here is a demonstration of the calls against leads not showing within report, but displaying on the advanced find.
Is there a way you can produce a visual report to display all activities regardless of the entity is relates too? This is the FetchXML query that displays in the advanced find option (i am no expert here so will need some advice if this is the case)
It doesn't matter which avenue I go down - advanced find > run report, or New report from the reporting section of dynamics, I can't seem to get them to display if they're against anything other than an opp. Hoping i'm just missing something!
Greatly appreciate any advice
Hey I need some clarification.
You're looking for a report that shows all activities regardless of the entity it is related to, and a visual with this for count of activities by type?
That's it? Please confirm or elaborate
Yes indeed, I require the visual report for all activities against all entities.
As explained above for some reason it doesn't include Leads no matter which way i try. Its to track and visually report the activities completed by my sales team for the week who almost exclusively work on leads.
Thankyou for any insight
Don't use reports. Just use a regular view of the Activity entity with no filters applied. That should return all results regardless of regarding.
After that create a chart on the same Activity entity with the x and y listed below.
- Legend: Activity - Count:All
- Horizontal - Activity Type
throw the view and chart on a dashboard and you're good to go.
Hi Jacob - really appreciate this. Dashboards/charts are so so so much easier than reports! Thankyou!
I have one more questions if this is okay with you. I have successfully got my running totals for the day, over a week as below, however it is displaying all users in my organisation. Only 3 members are part of my team, the other two are directors. I have 'team' created called sales team, but I cant figure out how to get dashboard/chart data to only apply to these people.
I created a view for activities for the week, selected 'Owner and Activity type' to produce the first chart (most important)
Those charts are looking good. If you want the views to only show the activities for the viewing user and their team then there's a condition for that. I took a screenshot.
If that's showing too much still because the users are in multiple teams, then you'll have to make the views specific to that team and after choosing "owner equals...." use the lookup function, flip it from user to Team and choose that sales team.
Furthermore, lol, if you want the dashboard to only be visible to those users you need to setup a unique security role and assign it to those people, then go to the dashboard config area and enable security roles for just that role.
I hope that helps, if you have more questions I'm still around.
You have been fabulously helpful - really appreciated. I'm so nearly there! I have created a sales Team with myself and two respective members of staff. I have a fantastic issue where now no data is displayed by adding this row? Can you think of any reason for this?
ooops. call it a lack of coffee gaffe. The team would need to own it, and that logic doesn't work. Bad advice on my part. let me think and I'll reply shortly.
try this logic?
you are an absolute star - thankyou so so much! Coffee kicked in ;)
