Hello, I want to auto populate lead details from the contact entity, particularly a specific URL field. I have created a workflow to achieve this but it's not working out. (The process sessions is showing that it is currently waiting). Not sure what is going on over there.I do not want to use field mapping in relationships because I already have a 1-N from Leads to Contact but then when I tried to achieve the same from Contacts to Leads using field mapping, that did not work out either. Also, when creating a new lead, I am selecting from the 'existing contact' to auto populate details.
My work flow:
3. Waiting Status in Process Sessions:
There are two 1:N relationships between Contact and Lead entities and one N:1 relationship between Contact and Lead entities.
So i have a question ---contact details you need to populate to lead is from parent contact or child contact?
From your description, “selecting from the 'existing contact' to auto populate details”, existing contact means you need parent contact(lead_parent_contact relationship).
From your screenshot, you update ‘Originating lead’ records, which means contact details id from child contact(contact_originating_lead relationship).
what you have done is that update parent lead with new created child contacts.
In general, populating child(lead) records with value from parent(contact) records is common.
If so, you need create a workflow in the lead entity, then update the current lead with value from parent contact.
Choose dynamic value from parent contact.
If you must trigger the workflow in the parent(contact) record, you need adding workflow tool or using flow to achieve it because workflow can't update child records directly.

I have implemented the updates you mentioned in the workflow and it works(sort of).
What I noticed is that: It shows the custom field for my URL after I save the lead. It does not auto populate right after selecting the Parent Contact from the qualify option.
Is there any way to do that?
What you mean is that the message does not auto-populate immediately after you select a contact, which is normal.
You need save it and refresh form after selecting contact, then you can find that fields have been filled, which means that it does not display information instantly.
