I have added new fields in Order entity to track some dates.
Before, these dates were inputed in the Quote entity.
I want to "transfer" these data from already won quotes and other from the quote entity to the order entity
Any idea how to do that ?
I have too much orders to perform a js script and open them one by one...Azure is the good part to use ? but what part of azure ?Thanks for your helpFrederick
It can be achieve with Flow (Power Automate).
For example, I created a field called "Quote Date" both in Quote entity and Order entity and added them into the form of Quote and Order.
Then create a flow by clicking on the Create Flow button in the toolbar of any quote record. Remember to select the proper environment.
Add a step "List rows" in Dataverse to list all the orders related to the quote.
Add an "Apply to each" step.
In the step, insert an "Update a row" in Dataverse to update all the records of Order.
After saving it, the updating can be triggered by selecting multi quotes in the view and clicking the flow.
Date in Quote:
Date in Order:
YOU.ARE.FAN.TAS.TIC ! ! !
But for the sake of understanding deeply, what are the other ways around (except the power automate ?)
Essentially, your issue is updating the child records with the value of the parent record.
1. You could consider to update the child records with workflow.
However, there is no such step OOTB, so you need to import a managed solution
Here is the "update child records" step in it.
